We employ nearly 400 staff.
More than 50% of staff work directly with offenders. This includes working in our hostel and in West Mercia's six prisons.
Other staff work in supporting roles such as training, information technology, admin and clerical, finance, human resources and management. |

Statement to all staff and service users on equal opportunities
The West Mercia Probation Trust recognises the probation service's duty to play a key role in promoting racial equality and valuing diversity in the wider criminal justice system.
The Board will ensure that service practice supports and encourages the elimination of discrimination and the promotion of equal opportunities for all. |

About us: Introduction
West Mercia Probation Trust is one of the 35 Probation Trusts in England and Wales. We cover Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire.
West Mercia Probation Trust works to protect the public, reduce re-offending, support victims and rehabilitate offenders. We work alongside other criminal justice agencies; Police, Prison Service, Courts, Crown Prosecution Service and with many other partner agencies across West Mercia. We supervise adult offenders serving community orders and those released from prison on licence.
Probation and the Prison Service together form the National Offender Management Service (NOMS), a department of the Ministry of Justice.
Regional work West Mercia forms part of the West of Midlands region along with the Staffordshire and West Midlands Probation Trust and Warwickshire Probation Trust
